Hot Pink Blazer

By

This hot pink blazer makes me soooo happy!

Ever since I read Kendi’s Working Closet series, I have taken her advice and kept a list of specific items I’m looking for to fill holes in my wardrobe.  That way I’m able to make more thoughtful, intentional purchases, and get the most bang out of my limited budget. A statement blazer has been on my list for a while.

While I love the structured look of a blazer worn casually, I often find them uncomfortable and constricting.  Fortunately, after a long hunt for spring blazer perfection (you know how I am: I can’t settle for less than love), I found this fun and comfortable ponte knit blazer

Feels like a cardigan, wears like a blazer.  I’m frilled.  Just goes to show: sometimes it’s worth waiting for the right piece you know you’ll love for a while. I’m looking forward to finding all sorts of frilling ways to wear it.  For now, I’ve kept it simple with dark wash skinnies, a chambray shirt, and booties.  You know, to let the blazer do all the talking.

(Gap blazer, JCrew chambray shirt, Banana petite skinnies, H&M belt, Gap floral socks, Aldo wedge booties.  Background: Texas.  )

Is there a particular piece you’re on the hunt for?
