Happy Tuesday everyone! I’m so excited to introduce y’all to our new series, “Frilling Fashionistas”. This series is all about highlighting everyday women and the fashion quirks that make them unique. Kicking off the series is my dear friend, Bethany.
Bethany has a Master of Social Work and will be graduating alongside me this May with her Master of Divinity. Originally from El Paso, Texas, she lives in Waco with her husband, Adrian, and their baby dog, Ali. Bethany is a girl on the go! She works multiple jobs, sings in a band, makes handmade goods for a local boutique and is in school full-time. However, even with her busy schedule, she always manages to look beautiful and put together.
Some of Bethany’s fashion tendencies include wearing handmade jewelry and hair pieces and styling her hair with various braided looks and messy buns. I love it! However, Bethany’s fashion frill that totally stands out as her signature look is her knack for color coordination. It’s definitely her thing, and she pulls it off effortlessly. Check it out:
Dress: Target / Cardigan: Gap / Shoes: Pac Sun / Headband: Harts N Crafts / Necklace: handmade
I love the golden hues of the neutrals in this look. It’s soft, chic, and comfortable. My favorite piece is the necklace, which Bethany crocheted herself after being inspired by this.
Dress: Piperlime / Cardigan: Express / Scarf: Gap / Shoes: Pac Sun
If I loved the simple, natural hues of the first look, I am simply FRILLED by the vibrant reds and corals that pop in contrast with the black in this outfit. I am particularly in love with the scarf. The color palette makes it an endlessly versatile piece!
Dress: Modcloth / Cardigan: Target / Leggings: Target / Clutch: Chanel / Headband: Urban Outfitters
This final look mixes comfort and class, and like all of Bethany’s stylings, it can be worn in any season (especially when you live in Texas!) I’m telling you, these are all real examples of outfits Bethany wears daily. It REALLY is her thing! I love the way Bethany pulls off these looks, and I love that she doesn’t ever stay within one color scheme. She is always changing things up, and she looks gorgeous in every color!
I hope you all enjoyed meeting our first frilling fashionista! Let us know in the comments what you think about Bethany’s various looks involving color coordination, and give her a word of encouragement, too. It’s not easy standing in front of the camera for those outfit pics!
Do you have any thoughts or suggestions for this new series? We can’t wait to introduce you to more FRILLING fashionistas in the coming weeks!
