Frilling Oscar Gowns

By

Did y’all watch the Oscars last night?  I found myself not really in the mood.  We are catching up on season 2 of Downton Abbey, which if you haven’t checked out, you should.  You can find season 1 on Hulu.  I love period drama to begin with, but this show has something for everyone.  Completely engrossing.

In any case, I did catch some of the Oscar pre-show, if only for the fashion.  And of course, I also went straight to People this morning for a best-dressed recap (all images are from People).

A lot of folks were touting Jessica Chastain as Best-Dressed in Alexander McQueen…

…which was Frilling, indeed, but I was more partial to Viola Davis in green Vera Wang…

…and Emma Stone in a gorgeous red Giambattista Valli Haute Coutoure with a FRILLING bow collar that I think is so glamourous…

…and I adored this girly coral Louis Vuitton gown worn by Michelle Williams…

…and lastly, because I’m a sucker for a subtle polka dot, I can’t help but mention Natalie Portman in Dior…

Did you have a favorite I didn’t mention?  I seem to gravitate toward strong colors lately; did you have a different leaning?
