Style Frills: Zooey Deschanel as Jess in New Girl

I think the new show “New Girl” on Fox is hilarious.  Zooey Deschanel is funny and adorable in it, as always.  I always admire Zooey’s sense of style, but the clothes she wears as her character Jess make me melt each week.

Her wardrobe is fun and feminine, loaded with color and pattern, vintage-inspired yet fresh and modern, and full of blouses, skirts, and cute flats.  I love.

So Frilling: Hailee Steinfeld is Juliet

I read an article the other day confirming Academy Award Nominee Hailee Steinfeld’s attachment to a remake of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.  You might know her from True Grit in her breakout role as Mattie Ross.

I have said this before, but I seriously LOVE this girl. She’s the new face of Miu Miu and is SO fashion forward. I can’t ever wait to see what she’s going to wear next. But back to the point: What do you think about there being a re-make of R&J? And what do you think about Hailee as Juliet?

I personally love it. If you didn’t already know, Hailee was a serious contender for Katniss in the Hunger Games. I’m glad that opportunity passed her by because Juliet will be perfect for her, and she is filming this summer – same time as the Hunger Games.

Let’s face it, she is totally reminiscent of Olivia Hussey, who played Juliet in the 1968 version. Hussey was only 15 when she starred in the film that was critically acclaimed and took home lots of prestigious awards. There hasn’t been a version as true to Shakespeare’s masterpiece since, so I’m completely FRILLED about the whole thing!

But what do you think? Is Hailee the perfect Juliet? Can a new version hold any water to the 1968 film? Sound off in the comments!
