Happy Wednesday all! I am so excited this week because we will be received the keys to our new home! I can’t wait to share all the projects we have in store with you guys.
Recently, I had an appointment in which the client’s goal was to learn how to dress down her many wear-to-work pencil skirts. My first thought? Chambray of course! Here’s an example of how I’ve dressed down my own pencil skirt using my ever-reliable J. Crew Keeper Chambray.
The denim fabric tones down the dressiness of the pencil skirt, and I casually tied the bottom of the shirt for added emphasis of this laid-back look.
I left a few buttons unbuttoned for more emphasis of my casual vibe. I also added a few pops of color just for FRILLS: coral lips and some sea foam: a VERY popular spring trend this year. I have no problem jumping on the bandwagon. This color looks great on every complexion.
I rolled the sleeves for even more emphasis (in case people weren’t getting the picture that I am indeed dressed down here! haha).
I traded my pumps for my funky Clark’s Indigo boots and added some frilly ankle socks.
Do you have any tips for dressing down a pencil skirt? My client left with 15 photos of different looks involving t-shirts, Sperry Topsiders, a denim jacket and more! She already owned the chambray (smart gal) so she was ready to go!
